I’d Rather Not is the debut project of first time filmmaker Brendan Butler (writer, director, producer). Brendan wrote this project during January of 2021 and put together an incredible crew that included Chris Owsiany, Randy Sinclair, Parker Nyquist, Ted Holmwood, Raf Young, and Sophia Castro. Cast was lead by Sam Cass and Gretchen Minzenberger and supported by Emma Linder, Hayden Burke, and Kayla Howe. The film was shot in one day on February 6th where the crew and actors powered through a 3 hour period outside with temperatures below 5 degrees. The project was finished mid-March under it’s $4,000 budget and is currently submitted to several festivals in the Chicago area and greater U.S.
